I was drawn to the field of pregnancy, labor and childbirth at a rather young age. Something about it seemed so natural and fascinating to me. As I got older, I wasn't sure how I could fit this passion into my life.

When I graduated from college, I didn't know what my next step would be, but I wanted to do something that involved helping women, especially during the time of labor and childbirth. I searched on the internet for ideas. That's when I learned all about becoming a doula. I knew instantly that was the job for me. I immediately contacted Doulas of North America (DONA), and signed up for a training class. Never to enter into anything lightly, I also registered for a training class to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, (LCCE).

Today, I am proud to say that I have finished my certification through Lamaze International and am a full-fledged LCCE. In addition, I am in the process of completing my certification through DONA.

I feel blessed to have the knowledge to help educate women and their partners during such a special time in their lives. I believe every woman deserves to experience her pregnancy and birth with confidence and support from those around her. As part of the Lamaze Philosophy of Birth, I also believe that pregnancy and birth are normal, natural and healthy. My goal is to empower women and their families through education and support to achieve the positive birth experience they are looking for. I am also fluent in American Sign Language, and would like to work with the Deaf community and Hearing Impaired.
